This book is a really good buy, just like The Beach (if you didnt like the movie, just read the book). His words are simple and direct but evokesvivid imagery, as if you were looking at a stark but beautiful snapshoot from a movie. And the black and white illustrations are nice. I want to enlarge them and frame them on my wall Next up is his other book, The Tesseract, which is actually set in the Philippines.
